Who needs pharmacologic therapy?

Treatment of atrial fibrillation has evolved significantly in the last ten years, with ablation becoming a far more common form of treatment for this most common of arrhythmias.  However, while ablation has become more common, certain populations derive continued benefit from the use of pharmacologic therapy for treatment.  We review the use of pharmacologic therapy and novel considerations for treatment of atrial fibrillation.
