  • Dr. Roberto De Ponti, MD, FHRS.

Affiliation:He specialized in Cardiology four years later. Currently, he is professor of Cardiology and chief electrophysiologist at the University of Insubria, Varese, Italy. Since the beginning, he devoted himself to invasive and non-invasive evaluation of cardiac arrhythmias. His research and clinical practice focus on interventional electrophysiology and catheter ablation of cardiac arrhythmias with particular emphasis on complex arrhythmias, ventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation, 3D mapping, and simulation for electrophysiology training.

  • Dr. Natasja MS de Groot, MD, PhD.

Affiliation:Natasja MS de Groot, associate professor, works as a cardiologist-electrophysiologist at the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam. As a clinical electrophysiologist, she is specialized in 1) catheter ablation in patients with congenital heart disease, 2) catheter ablation implantation in pediatric patients, 3) catheter ablation of complex tachyarrhythmias. She is also chief of the research unit translational electrophysiology. Research projects are aimed at unraveling the pathophysiology of cardiac arrhythmias, particularly that of atrial fibrillation and post-operative atrial tachyarrhythmias in patients with congenital heart disease.

  • Dr. Luiz Sérgio F de Carvalho, MD, MSc, PhD.

Affiliation:Luiz Sérgio F de Carvalho, MD, MSc and PhD, is currently the Head of Biostatistics Department at the Clinical Research Center, Hospital de Base de Brasília. Associate Researcher at the State University of Campinas (UNICAMP) and collaborator of Brazilian Heart Study. Research interests are among Vascular Biology, Atherosclerosis, Lipidology, Clinical Trials on Lipid-Lowering Drugs, Metabolomics, Diabetes Mellitus, Clinical and Molecular Pharmacology, Cellular Metabolism, Applied Genetics and Molecular Biology.

  • Dr. Ruchir Sehra, MD, FHRS.

Affiliation:Dr. Sehra is a clinical cardiac electrophysiologist with an active interest in translating therapeutic innovations to clinical practice. He has been involved in the development of Focal Impulse and Rotor Modulation (FIRM). Dr. Sehra currently sees patients at the San Diego VA Medical Center, and is Chief Medical Officer for Topera Inc.

  • Dr. Koji Kumagai, MD, PhD.

Affiliation:Director, Division of Cardiology, Gunma Prefectural Cardiovascular Center, Maebashi, Japan

  • Dr. Alvaro Alonso, MD, PhD.

Affiliation:Dr. Alvaro Alonso, MD, PhD is Associate Professor in the Division of Epidemiology and Community Health at the University of Minnesota, Minneapolis. His research interests include the epidemiology of atrial fibrillation and other cardiac arrhythmias. He is a co-investigator of the Atherosclerosis Risk in Communities (ARIC) study and the Multi-Ethnic Study of Atherosclerosis (MESA), two community-based cohorts aimed to study the epidemiology of cardiovascular diseases in the population.

  • Dr. Bashar Aldhoon, M.D., Ph.D.

Affiliation:Faculty member at the Institute for Clinical and Experimental Medicine, Prague, Czech Republic. He specializes in the treatment of cardiac arrhythmias, including catheter ablation of supraventricular tachycardia, atrial fibrillation and ventricular tachycardia. Dr. Aldhoon’s research focus is in the field of cardiac arrhythmias. Most recently, Dr. Aldhoon attended a research fellowship at the University of Pennsylvania, PA.

  • Dr. Rajeev Kumar Pathak, MBBS, FRACP.

Affiliation:Dr Rajeev Pathak is a Doctoral Fellow in Clinical Electrophysiology and a Cardiologist at the Centre of Heart Rhythm Disorder, University of Adelaide and Royal Adelaide Hospital. He has played an intricate role in investigating the need for aggressive risk factor management as part of the AF ablation program at his center . His ARREST-AF study: 'Aggressive Risk factor Reduction Study for Atrial Fibrillation: implications for the outcome of ablation,' won the prestigious “Eric N. Prystowsky Fellow Clinical Research” award at Heart Rhythm Society, 2014.

  • Dr. Joris R. de Groot, MD, PhD, FESC.

Affiliation:Dr. De Groot is a Clinical Electrophysiologist/Device Specialist and Assistant Professor of Cardiology at the Academic Medical Center/University of Amsterdam, the Netherlands. His research interests include hybrid and thoracoscopic ablation for atrial fibrillation, arrhythmias in patients with congenital heart disease and novel implantable device technology.

  • Dr. Sebastian Stec, MD, PhD.

Affiliation:A clinical electrophysiologist. He performed all kind of ablation in adults and children with and without fluoroscopy. Currently Dr. Stec has position as research scientist at the Postgraduate Medical School, Warsaw, Poland and co-founder of ELMedica EP-Network. His research interests center on supraventricular and ventricular arrhythmias, atrial fibrillation, intracardiac echocardiography, 3D-mapping and inter-disciplinary approach for diagnosis and symptoms’ management in patients with arrhythmias.
